5 Best Beaches In Dubai
When most of us think of Dubai, we think of a stunning skyline stuffed full of world-class services and amenities. It is the perfect destination to shop till you drop, bask in the luxury of some of the world’s finest hotels and resorts, and enjoy the cuisine of your choice prepared by world-class chefs.
However, Dubai is more than just a forest of luxury skyscrapers. The city is also renowned for its archipelago of artificial islands, the largest ones in the world. These include the Palm Jumeirah and the World Islands. They have extended the Dubai waterfront by hundreds of kilometers and are home to various resorts, beach clubs, and other amenities.
Top things to do in Dubai:
- Go shopping
- Take a desert safari
- Enjoy a yacht cruise
- Hit the beach
One thing that should come to mind when you think of Dubai is its collection of beaches. Although the Emirates is an Islamic country, exceptions are made to the usual regulations on dress and demeanor for the beaches. This means that you can have fun in the sun pretty much the same as you can anywhere else. Women, just refrain from going topless.
Tips on enjoying Dubai’s beaches:
- Come in the winter when it’s not too hot
- Put on a t-shirt as soon as you leave the beach
- Bring sunscreen, shades, and a hat
- Relax and enjoy!
Here is our list of Dubai’s top five beaches.
Al Mamzar Beach Park
Al Mamzar is accessible for a small fee. It is a fantastic option for a day out with the kids. The park offers a range of amenities including well-cultivated playgrounds and barbeque pits. Swimming options include sheltered lagoons and pools. If the heat gets to be too much you can rent a sun lounge or a private beach bungalow that comes with AC.
Black Palace Beach
This may sound like a foreboding location from a classic fantasy novel, but fear not, this beach is simply named after a nearby royal residence. Black Palace Beach is one of the best places in Dubai to view the sunset. The swimming conditions are also some of the calmest that you will find in the city. It can be a bit hard to find the path down to the beach, but once you’re there you will be treated to great views of the Burj Al Arab and the Palm Jumeirah. This uncultivated beach is a great place to get away from Dubai’s frenetic hum.

La Mer is a relatively young beach destination in Dubai. This is more of an upscale destination than the options above. It offers some outstanding dining options and cafes. There is even a unique outdoor trampoline park. You can choose from two separate beaches, the north one and the south one. Both over a variety of watersports like:

Kite beach is a long-standing institution in Dubai and one of the best places to enjoy some beach sports like, of course, kite surfing. Thrill-seekers can enjoy other classic activities like kayaking, paddle boarding, and beach volleyball. There are plenty of dining options along the beachfront, perfect for grabbing a quick meal on the go. There are also off-beach activities like a playground and a skatepark.

The JBR Beach
The Jumeirah Beach Residences is a waterfront community in the Dubai Marina district of the city. This is a very central strip of sand with a promenade and a wide variety of cafes, shops and the like. This is a place to see and be seen, chances are you will see more than one supercar rolling by here. A lot of unique activities are jam-packed into the area, including the inflatable Dubai Water Park and camel rides.
